Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the latest police activity.

 

At 1337hrs on Monday, 03 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that the EOD were planning to detonate 2 No. C3B mines found in minefield No. 69.

 

At 1854hrs on Monday, 03 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that there was a loose dog at the Canache.  Dog Owners are reminded that they must keep their animals under control in accordance with the Hydatid Ordinance.

 

At 1614hrs on Tuesday, 04 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle driving eratically on Endurance Avenue.   The driver was located and given a strong verbal warning.

 

At 1910hrs on Wednesday, 05 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police were advised of an incoming SeaKing with a medivac at the Football pitch.

 

At 1637hrs on Wednesday, 05 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a bicycle stolen from outside the Falkland Islands Community School.  The bike was located and returned to the owner.  The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind bike owners to secure their bikes with either a chain and pad lock or a lock manufactured for securing bikes.

 

At 1807hrs on Thursday, 06 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of damage to a vehicle on Jeremy Moore Avenue.  The tyres were slashed.  If anyone has information on this incident, please call the Royal Falkland Islands Police on 27222.

 

At 1319hrs on Saturday, 08 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a serious chimney fire on Brandon Road.  Two Fire crews were dispatched.

 

At 2249hrs on Saturday, 08 July 2006 a foot patrol of the Royal Falkland Islands Police came upon a disturbance between three people in front of the Globe Tavern.  Officers calmed the situation down and then observed two males involved in a minor dispute in front of the POD Gift Shop.  The men were given virbal warnings and sent on their ways.

 

At 0335hrs on Sunday, 09 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of possible damage to property on Davis Street.  Officers attended and one person was escorted home.

 

At 0423hrs on Sunday, 09 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for Medical assistance on Thatcher Drive.  KEMH staff dealt with the incident.

 

At 2010hrs on Tuesday, 11 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that the road in the vicinity of 3rd Creek, Estancia.  The damage occurred when the tide was as high as the culverts.  The dangerous area has been coned off but the road is passable with caution.

 

At 1543hrs on Wednesday, 12 July 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a request for medical assistance on Jeremy Moore Avenue.  KEMH staff dealt with the incident.

 

Sergeant Dave Roberts told FINN about a new piece of equipment recently obtained by the Royal Falkland Islands Police.  It is a Pro-laser 3 - a laser operated speed metre.  It can give an accurate reading from 1,200 yards.  Seeing that it is a laser, it cannot be detected on your fuzz buster, so be warned!
