THE WEDDING OF GRACE AND NICK
By J. Brock (FINN)
The wedding of Grace Rowlands and Nick Dray took place at the Narrows Bar at 7:00 PM on Friday, 12 September 2003 in front of Registrar, John Rowland. A gathering of approximately 25 people watched Grace and Nick take their vows and the numbers swelled to over 70 for the buffet. Grace’s supporters were Rosemary King, Maria Biggs and Jane Rowlands, Grace’s daughter.
The bride looked stunning in a copper, patterned caftan with brown trim and a dress with reverse colour and pattern underneath. Christine Mitchell of Goose Green designed and made the dress with material provided by Tanzie Newman. The groom wore a light grey suit that was accentuated with a single yellow lapel rosebud.
A three-tier wedding cake was made and decorated by Michele Evans. And, the confetti, well wishes and balloons were sent especially from the UK by the Groom’s parents, Ray and Maggie Potter and his brother, Chris Dray. Stacy and Grant provided floral decorations for the venue.
Thanks from Grace goes to Rosemary King for all of her help and Rosemary’s daughter, Roxanne, to Christine Mitchell for the lovely dress, Edwina and Rob for the use of the Narrows Bar and for the buffet and Michele Evans for the wedding cake. Also, to Dion Jones for the makeup and Michele Jones for the hair, J. R. Rowland for the ceremony, Felicity Clarke Fiona Wallace, the bar-staff. And, thank you to everyone who came and made such a wonderful evening. Grace also thanks her daughter Jane, for her love and support and best of all, Nick.
