FORMER FALKLANDS GOVERNOR OFF TO VENEZUELA

As opposed to Ulan Bator, Falklands Governor Mr. Donald Lamont, is off to Venezuela for a post as British Ambassador. He replaces Dr. John Hughes who takes up another diplomatic post.
Donald and his wife Lynda will be taking up the post at the end of July 2003. Donald Lamont took over as Governor of the Falkland Islands from Richard Ralph in 1999, who will be taking up his post as British Ambassador in Peru shortly.
Previous posts for the new British Ambassador to Venezuela include Sarajevo, Montevideo, Berlin, Moscow and Vienna. Mr. and Mrs. Lamont have two children, a daughter born in 1983 and a son born in 1986.
