Ozone
And finally unexpected strong winds in the Stratosphere over Antarctica have helped to split the hole in the ozone layer.
This is according to scientists at the Magellanes University.
This is good news for sunbathers out there as it means that there is a greater concentration of ozone and there will be a higher protection against UV radiation.
This splitting of the hole is a bit unexpected because it usually happens towards the end of November. One of the smaller holes has located itself to opposite Chilean Antarctic bases and the other is closer to Punta Arenas.
However they say that it’s too early to say whether it will remain this way but at the moment it’s looking good.
