NO TURN-OUT PUTS DARTS FUNDRAISER ON HOLD

At noon on Sunday, a small crowd of people stood in the vicinity of the Globe Hotel in Stanley, hoping to get a glimpse of this year’s pram racers. A route that included all of the drinking establishments in Stanley had been produced and Proprietor, Julie Clarke, was at the ready for an afternoon of frolic and fun and dosh for the up and coming trip to the UK for Stanley’s best darts players. Noon came and went but no teams came up.
"I can’t believe that out of the 140 members of the Stanley Darts Club, not one single team," said a disappointed Julie on Sunday.
When interviewed by FINN, Ms Clarke had no plans for scheduling the race on another day. Let’s hope so. This annual event really is too good to miss and it gives people a chance to let their hair down and support a good cause.
